Pussalla and RossHelp Sri Lankan Producers Maximize Ross 308 Chick Output
June 30, 2026 - BANGKOK, Thailand—Sri Lankan poultry producers gathered in Bangkok from May 14 – 17, 2026, for a seminar focused on maximizing chick output from the Ross® 308 breeder. Organized and sponsored by Pussalla, the Sri Lankan distributor of Ross parent stock, the event brought together approximately 30 customers from across Sri Lanka to share the latest management strategies for improving breeder performance and hatchery results.

The seminar reflected Pussalla's ongoing commitment to supporting its customers with practical knowledge that helps them achieve greater productivity and profitability.
Presenting on behalf of Aviagen were Antonin Bonneau, president of Aviagen Asia; Yash Jaiswal, commercial manager for Aviagen Asia; and members of the Ross technical support team. Together, they shared Aviagen’s commitment to Asia and the latest management recommendations to help producers maximize the lifetime performance of their Ross 308 flocks.
The program covered three key areas essential to chick production. Sessions explored effective male management practices to sustain fertility throughout the production cycle, strategies for developing robust females capable of maintaining persistent egg production, and nutritional approaches to enhance hatchability and overall reproductive performance.
"Producing more high-quality chicks begins with a balanced approach to breeder management," said Yash Jaiswal. "By combining strong genetics with best management practices, producers can improve flock persistency, fertility, and hatchability while maximizing the value of every breeder flock. We appreciate Pussalla's commitment to investing in customer education and supporting the continued growth of Sri Lanka's poultry industry."

Mr. Dilshan Wewita, Managing Director of Pussalla Meat Producers, added that close collaboration between Ross and Pussalla enables customers to benefit from both industry-leading genetics and local technical support.
"Pussalla has built a strong reputation by working closely with its customers and continually investing in their success," he said. "Events like this create valuable opportunities to exchange knowledge, discuss local challenges, and help producers achieve consistent performance with Ross 308."
Pussalla's journey reflects the rapid development of Sri Lanka's poultry industry. What began as a single poultry house in the 1980s has grown into a fully integrated farm-to-fork business with its own grandparent operations. Today, the company supplies Ross parent stock to producers throughout Sri Lanka while continuing to expand its technical capabilities and customer support.
By bringing customers together with Aviagen specialists, the seminar reinforced Aviagen and Pussalla's shared commitment to helping Sri Lankan poultry producers optimize breeder performance, improve hatchery efficiency, and meet the country's growing demand for high-quality poultry meat.
