The Department of Dairy Science and The Department of Animal Nutrition (BAU) jointly hosted the International Workshop on the "Dairy and beef production system: Nutrition, feed balancing , welfare and sustainability"
Md. Afzal Hossain (Editor & Publisher), From BAU, 20 July-2026: A two-day international workshop on modernization of dairy and beef production systems, proper nutrition, feed balancing, animal welfare and sustainable farm management has begun at Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU).
The workshop titled ‘International Workshop on Dairy and Beef Production Systems: Nutrition, Feed Balancing, Welfare and Sustainability’ was inaugurated at the Syed Nazrul Islam Conference Room of the university on Monday (July 20). The workshop, held on July 20 and 21, was jointly organized by the Dairy Science Department and the Animal Nutrition Department of BAU.

The chief guest at the workshop was Professor Dr. A.K. Fazlul Haque Bhuiyan, Vice-Chancellor of the university, The special guest was Dr. Md. Bayzer Rahman the Director General (Routine In-Charge) of DLS, Dhaka. The chariperson was Professor Dr. Mohammed Ashiqul Islam, Department of Dairy Science, BAU.
The chief guest Professor Dr. AK Fazlul Haque Bhuiyan inaugurated the event and said, that such international workshops create important opportunities for young researchers and students to learn, gain new knowledge and think about the future. Through this, they will be able to know and understand how the dairy and beef production system of Bangladesh can be improved in line with future needs and global challenges. The constructive discussions and exchange of views at the workshop will further strengthen cooperation between research, education and industry sectors. At the same time, the path will be paved for the implementation of modern technology and research results at the field level, which will play an important role in meeting the growing demand for dairy and beef in the country and internationally.
