World's Poultry Congress
Historically, the World's Poultry Congress was held every three years from 1921 to 1954, except during the years affected by the Second World War. Since 1954, the Congress has been organised on a regular four-year cycle, maintaining its position as the most influential international event in the global poultry calendar.
The 26th World's Poultry Congress was successfully hosted in Paris, France, in 2022, attracting participants from across the globe. The 27th World's Poultry Congress took place from 13–17 July 2026 in Toronto, Canada, bringing together thousands of delegates representing academia, research institutions, government organisations, and the international poultry industry. The 28th World Poultry Congress will be held in Tokyo, Japan, in 2030.

The World's Poultry Congress (WPC) is the world's most prestigious international event dedicated to poultry science, research, and industry development. Organised by the World's Poultry Science Association (WPSA), the Congress serves as a unique global platform where scientists, researchers, academics, industry leaders, policymakers, and poultry professionals come together to exchange knowledge, showcase innovations, and discuss emerging challenges and opportunities in the poultry sector.

আগামীতে গবেষণা খাতে আরও বেশি বরাদ্দ প্রদান করা হবে। গবেষণা ছাড়া দেশ এগিয়ে যেতে পারবে না।গবেষণা বিষয়ে সরকার কোন কৃপণতা করবে না। তবে প্রকৃত অর্থে গবেষণা হচ্ছে কি না তা নিশ্চিত করতে হবে।
প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে বাংলাদেশ প্রাণিসম্পদ গবেষণা ইনস্টিটিউট (বিএলআরআই) কর্তৃক বাস্তবায়নাধীন “মহিষ গবেষণা ও উন্নয়ন (প্রথম সংশোধিত)” শীর্ষক উন্নয়ন প্রকল্পের সমাপনী কর্মশালা উদ্বোধনকালে আজ সকালে সাভারে মৎস্য ও প্রাণিসম্পদ মন্ত্রণালয় এবং কৃষি মন্ত্রণালয়ের মাননীয় মন্ত্র্রী জনাব মোহাম্মদ আমিন উর রশিদ মহোদয় একথা বলেন।
মহিষ পালনকে জনপ্রিয় করার জন্য তিনি গুরুত্ব আরোপ করে তিনি বলেন, উন্নত দেশসমূহে মহিষ দুধের অনেক বড় একটি উৎস্য। আমাদের দেশের চরাঞ্চলে তুলনামূলক কম কৃষি কাজ হয়। এখানে যদি আমরা লবণাক্ত মাটির জন্য উপযোগী লবণ সহিষ্ণু জাতের ঘাস চাষ করতে পারি, তবে মহিষ পালনের একটি উপযুক্ত ক্ষেত্র হতে পারে। তবে ভবিষ্যতে কৃষি কাজের জন্য জায়গার স্বল্পতা দেখা যাবে। তাই কম জায়গায় কিভাবে মহিষ পালন করা যায় সে বিষয়ে গবেষণা কার্যক্রম পরিচালনা করতে হবে।
